  1. Shifts took a nosedive this week following a whopping 22,297 shifts being created on June 1st. As of June 8th, 2,801 shifts have been created. This may be due to updated regulations rolled out by cities/counties/countries that are re-opening cafes.

Similar to shifts created, we're seeing a significant drop in the number of shifts scheduled and worked. Currently the gap between the two is 26.1%. That said, we could see this number change as re-opening strategies emerge.

Similar to shifts, we are observing a decrease in hours being scheduled and hours being worked. In comparison to last week, hours scheduled and worked decreased by over 80%. Numbers have not been this low since mid-February, which could be an indicator of several items: new re-opening regulations, fear of a second wave or business closures.

Pre-pandemic, on average, managers planned shifts ahead by 11 days. Currently, managers are only planning 3-4 days ahead, likely as a result of the current crisis climate.
